Akanksha Kalra, Esquire, practices exclusively in the area of immigration and nationality law and provides legal representation to businesses and individuals throughout the United States. Ms. Kalra represents corporate and individual clients in immigration matters before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Department of Labor, Department of State and U.S. Consulates, Executive Office of Immigration Reform, Board of Immigration Appeals and other federal agencies. 

Akanksha Kalra represents clients in all areas of U.S. immigration, with a special focus on business and professional immigration matters. She counsels businesses in developing immigration strategies and policies to hire/manage an international workforce and ensure corporate compliance under U.S. immigration laws.  She has extensive experience in obtaining nonimmigrant work visas such as H-1B, L-1, TN, E, O, P, R, B-1/B-2; PERM labor certifications; employment based permanent residence process, family/marriage based immigrant visas ("green cards") and naturalization cases.   Ms. Kalra represents clients in immigration court proceedings, Removal/Deportation, Asylum, U Visas and VAWA related issues.  She  also provides legal representation in EB-5 Investment Visa matters to foreign investors.   

Ms. Kalra has extensive experience in obtaining work visas for foreign born professionals seeking employment in information technology, education, healthcare, research, engineering, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing,  hospitality, non-profit organizations, and other areas. Her clients range from STEM graduates, computer professionals, engineers, architects, entrepreneurs, scientists, researchers, healthcare workers, multinational executives/managers, to international entertainers, artists and athletes. 

 Ms. Kalra has twenty four years of experience working in the field of immigration law and is committed to providing high quality professional services and individual attention to clients. She works with businesses to develop immigration strategies and policies to manage an international workforce and ensure corporate compliance. She regularly advises corporate clients on the impact of immigration regulations on their business and human resource needs. Ms. Kalra has written several articles on immigration related topics and is frequently invited as a speaker on television shows, legal seminars and to address international students at colleges and universities.  

Ms. Kalra has significant personal ties to the immigration experience. She was born in India and immigrated to the United States in 1992. She is a graduate of University of Pennsylvania Law School where she received her LL.M. degree in International Law in 1997. Prior to coming to the United States, Ms. Kalra obtained her LL.B. degree with Top Honors from Law Faculty, University of Delhi in 1990. She graduated at the top of her class with B.A. (Hons.) from Punjab University, India. Ms. Kalra is admitted to the New York Bar and United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Montgomery County Bar Association. 

Ms. Kalra has been a Pennsylvania resident for twenty eight years. She is dedicated to community service and serves on many civic associations and boards. She is an active volunteer for various community and non-profit organizations in the Greater Philadelphia area and contributes pro-bono efforts on behalf of various groups. Ms. Kalra is fluent in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu and has a good understanding of Gujarati.
